How Hastings Concrete got its start
I spent years as another concrete contractor's right hand, running crews and learning the trade one pour at a time, before I started Hastings Concrete here in Hastings in 2013. That work taught me the base a slab sits on and the way water runs off it matter as much as the finish you see, because a pretty driveway on loose dirt will still sink and crack.
Today we're best known for driveways, patios and the flatwork around a house that holds up through our winters, and for being easy to talk to. Most calls come from homeowners, and builders and business owners call us for lots, walls and foundations. I'd rather spend extra time on prep and on talking it through up front than have you wondering later why a slab moved. I come out to look at your job and write the estimate myself, so the person you talked to is the one who plans the work. Our foreman leads the crew on the pour, and I stop by to check on it.

Straight answers before anything's poured
The Hastings building code covers houses inside city limits and can reach up to two miles past them where the city handles zoning, so we find out whether the city or the county covers your address and walk you through the permit and inspection steps your job calls for. If a job needs an engineer or a different approach, we'll tell you plainly before any concrete goes down.
